헤르페스바이러스 감염병을 앓는 수유모와 모유수유, Nursing mothers and breastfeeding with herpes virus infection

헤르페스바이러스(Herpes simplex virus)는 1형과 2형, 두 종류가 있다.
헤르페스바이러스를 단순 포진 바이러스, 헐피스바이러스 또는 허피스 바이러스라고도 한다.
1형 헤르페스바이러스 감염병은 젖 먹이는 엄마의 입술, 손가락, 얼굴 등의 피부에 생길 수 있다.
드물게는 수유모의 젖꼭지에도 생길 수 있다. 젖 먹는 아기가 헤르페스바이러스성 피부 감염이 있는 엄마의 피부에 직접 접촉되지 않도록 주의하고 손을 깨끗이 씻어 젖 먹는 아기에게 감염되지 않게 해야 한다.
헤르페스바이러스 감염병이 수유모의 유방이나 젖꼭지 피부에 생기면 다 나을 때까지 그 쪽 젖을 먹여서는 안 된다.
2형 헤르페스바이러스 감염병이 분만부의 외부생식기에 있을 때는 제왕절개수술 분만을 권장한다.
그 분만 후 헤르페스바이러스성 피부감염이 수유모의 유방 이외 피부에 있을 때는 감염된 피부를 거즈로 잘 덮어 피부 감염 병소 헤르페스바이러스가 아기에게 감염되지 않게 한다.
수유모는 손을 깨끗이 씻고 모유수유를 한다.
수유모에게 1형 헤르페스바이러스 감염병이 있다고 의심되거나 감염병이 있으면, 수유모는 모유수유를 하기 전에 의사와 상담한 후 모유수유를 계속 해도 되는지 또는 어떤 조취를 취해야 하는지 결정한다. (부모도 반의사가 되어야 한다― 소아가정간호백과-제 6권 신생아 성장 발육 양호, 질병- 단순 포진 바이러스 감염 (허피스바이러스 감염, 헤르페스바이러스 감염. Herpes simplex virus infections 참조)

There are two types of Herpes simplex virus, type 1 and type 2. Herpes virus is also called herpes simplex virus or herpes virus.

Herpes virus type 1 infection can occur on the skin of a nursing mother’s lips, fingers, and face. Rarely, it can also develop on the nipples of a nursing mother.

You should be careful not to let the nursing baby come into direct contact with the mother’s skin with a herpes virus skin infection, and wash your hands thoroughly to avoid infecting the nursing baby.

If a herpes virus infection occurs on the breast or nipple skin of a nursing mother, the breast should not be fed until it is healed.

When the type 2 herpesvirus infectious disease is in the external genitalia of the delivery department, a cesarean section is recommended.

After delivery, if the herpes virus skin infection is on the skin other than the nursing mother’s breast, the infected skin is well covered with gauze to prevent the herpes virus from infecting the baby.

The nursing mother washes her hands thoroughly and breastfeed.

If a nursing mother is suspected of having a type 1 herpes virus infection or has an infectious disease, the nursing mother should consult a doctor before breastfeeding to determine if it is okay to continue breastfeeding or what steps to take.
